Isaiah 60:1 Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!
In love with this piece that Zach created for Luke’s nursery! Especially because it has such special meaning to me.
After suffering a miscarriage in 2014 and then experiencing absolute radio silence in that area for the following two years – I stumbled across this verse in the Amplified version in the summer of 2016. It was a game-changer. I was immediately encouraged from the first sentence, and started writing the verse down every time I thought about it – including August 2016 when I found out that Zach and I were going to be parents! A few months later when we found out we were having a boy and had settled on the name Luke, being the researcher that I am, I looked up what his name meant.
Luke. Origin: Greek. Meaning: Light-giving. Luminous.
Wait, what! All along while standing on this encouraging verse that told me to ARISE from past circumstances and SHINE, because my LIGHT has come – little did I know that my little light-giver would be coming so, so soon.
Whatever you’re going through, whether it has been two or 20 years, I encourage you to read, re-read and then memorize Isaiah 60:1 in the Amplified version. And – be encouraged, because your light has already come!
